Vitamin C Deficiency Promotes Gingivitis
Gum infections can occur due to a number of reasons, including poor nutrition. Lack of vitamin C can result in bleeding gums, which if left untreated, can lead to gum infection. Foods that are rich in Vitamin C include carrots, oranges, red peppers and sweet potatoes. Eating fruits and vegetables that are high in Vitamin C is better than consuming fruit or vegetable juices. Most juices do not only have a high sugar content but they are also very acidic, promoting tooth enamel erosion. If you still want to drink fruit juices, try to use a straw as this minimizes the contact of the juice with your teeth. Don’t forget to discuss your dietary needs with a highly experienced dental professional . Remember, a healthy mouth equals a healthy body and of course, a healthy you! SHARE THIS POST
