What is Garbha Sanskar?

Garbha Sanskar means the rites performed on the fetus. That is, the Vedic method to activate the good qualities in the genes and deactivate the bad qualities within the future child and to obtain excellent progeny.

Why Garbha Sanskar?

Ayurvedic science believes it, but now modern science also believes based on research that the diet and thinking of the parents leave a deep impression on the child.

The branch of science that studies the effect of the environment on our genes and the traits that genes display is called "Epigenetics". In which many studies have proved that the diet, behavior and thoughts of the parents, i.e. the environment, have an effect on the genes of their sperm and ovum. And genes with the same quality are indirectly transferred to the next generation.

Therefore, if a perfect and ideal child is desired, then every parent has to be active and create an environment where the child is desired and it starts with a permanent change in oneself.

When should Garbha Sanskar be started?

Thus Garbha Sanskar should be started three months to one year before pregnancy, but can be started at any time even after pregnancy.
